How I Feel about Going to the Gym – with an assist from Bill S.

Tomorrow, a skipped day, and then tomorrow
I creep this petty pace,
From where I live
To the stair monster and weights at the local Y.
Excessive, blissful calories light my way
To pain and sweat.
It’s for you, dark chocolate,
That I make my way, kicking and screaming inside,
Climbing stairs to nowhere.
Just so I can eat more
And suffer this again.
It’s a plight shared by many,
Often breaking barriers,
Sometimes forging friendships,
So signifying something.
